The Many Aspects Of Anorexia Nervosa - 2422 Words

Abstract In this report, I study the many aspects of anorexia nervosa. First, I discuss the various factors that play into the development of anorexia, including genetic risks, developmental and personality factors, and the media. I then study the many early warning signs of the anorexia-developing patient and explain the behaviors a patient may have if they are about to develop anorexia. I explain the signs and symptoms of an anorexic patient after that, which are categorized into three categories: behavioral symptoms, external symptoms, and internal symptoms. After that, I bring up the health consequences and effects that come from anorexia, along with an explanation as to how these effects, when combined, could lead to death, the possible result of anorexic behaviors. I then move on to the multiple methods of treatment of anorexia, including the psychological treatment and the physical treatment of the patient. Lastly, I discuss the legal side of anorexia treatments, along with patient rig ht’s, and the healthcare provider’s actions in the event of a refusal of treatment.
